- ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪Been searching for a female cockatiel for a while now and came across this pet shop. I rang up and asked about the cockatiels first told me she had a young cock and a hen. So I went up asked about the accuracy of the bird been female and the girl behind the till who served me said yes I'm very sure it's female and took the bird upstairs before purchase to have someone feel around the vent of the bird to accurately confirm that it was female. She bought the bird back down stairs and placed it in a box. I asked again if she was sure and her words were "we can never be 100% but my colleague upstairs had a feel around the backend and is sure of it been female. I AM 99% CERTAIN THIS IS FEMALE" So I take their word for it and believe this is a hen. I had a DNA test done which had taken nearly two weeks for the results and it's a male! I already have one male. Now I know why my male didn't take to this suppose female/now male. So I rang up the pet shop today and told them all of the above and asked for a refund. They said no and basically accused me of lying. We're quite quick to defend and get snappy with me when I questioned what they told me two weeks ago. Now I have a male bird that in the grande steam of things has cost me £125. £50 for the bird and £75 for DNA. Why they can't refund me back I don't know? They would sell the bird eventually and knowing (thanks to me) precisely what gender it is making sale much easier. Or maybe if I was from Cheshire they would probably be more than happy to comply. But I'm not and I think that's why so got snotty with me. It's customer service is shocking! And I work in customer service so I know! If I'd of treated my customers like that (regardless of accent and where their from) I'd be straight up in front of the offices!. Never buying from here again!.
